My name is Erik Sikkema, and I am in the recording business for over 40 years.
Besides recording, editing and mastering, I am interested in musicology of sound production.
I have worked as recording and balance engineer with international artists throughout Europe. I am mostly known for my expertise of organ recordings, but I have been aswell involved in many orchestral and chamber music recordings.
I have worked behind the scenes for the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra (Ton Koopman) as assistant engineer, made concert recordings for radio broadcast and worked as sound engineer for TV productions with music, e.g. Eric Ericson's Chamber Choir, conducted by Eric Ericson, and I assisted with or edited other projects for different companies. At the moment I am starting up a new service for video and streaming.
I have worked in the USA, Great-Britain, Estland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Holland, Belgium, France, Switzerland, Italy and Austria.
My recordings have been released on many labels, including Decca, Philips, Erato, Telarc, BIS, Nonesuch, Koch-Schwann, Capriccio, CPO, Fidelio, Finlandia, Musica Sveciae, Proprius, Deutsche Harmonia Mundi, Organeum, Gothic, Loft, Etcetera, Motette, Astree, Naxos and others.
